Comic-Con

Ξ July 21st, 2006 | → | ∇ Film & Television |

Just got back from the preview night and first day of the 2006 San Diego Comic-Con International. If one has ever questioned the extent of fandom, this is the ultimate proof of how powerful it it. One pass through the massive exhibition hall could provide a better education in marketing and publicity than many four-year institutions of so-called higher learning. Unlike any other convention, San Diego Comic-Con is a celebration of all things pop culture, and the means of getting that culture out there. And the convention and attendees understand this dual aspect better than at any other tradeshow I’ve ever attend. This was my second year, and it’s safe to say that one needs a year under one’s belt to understand and take advantage fully.
